Multiple Weapons-why?
Ok, 1st off forgive me if this is somehow spammed on this forum from past times...
To the issue at hand...Why do people use mutiple weapons?
I understand the casters who want energy at one time, enchantments at another, power at another...
Or the Warrior who has the opening dmg, the tanking weapon, the vamp weapon, the kick @$$ weapon...
But rly, it just seems like 2 much of a hassle to swap back and forth, also the money it takes to fund some of these...
I'm not downing u guys in anyway i just personally stick with 1 weapon...could some ppl just give me some advantages besides the ones i've listed to why multiple weapons might help me or nyone else?

Some people with vampiric weapons like to have a placeholder weapon so that when they aren't fighting they don't suffer a health degen. Same goes with zealous weapons.

In PvP, weaponset swapping is crucial to success.
First there's the obvious Vampiric weapon-swap. Why would you stand around with health degen when you don't have to? Just bring out the Vamp weapon when you're attacking.
But another more important use is for energy management against energy-denial teams. If a team is constantly hitting your energy, you can't do much. But if you keep your high-energy focus item unequipped, then swap it in only when you're casting a spell, you've got a small reserve of energy that they can't drain.
Some of the other things you mentioned are also possible. It may seem like people are nitpicking over tiny details. However, in a major matter, no detail is small.

Pushing one button doesn't seem like much of a hassle to me.
On my monk I have a bow as a secondary weapon. Since I usually use henchmen, I switch to the bow when I want to pull mobs.

XD It's MUCH more important in PvP than pve. Weapon swapping makes you versatile and not stuck to one thing. It's also the biggest advantage PvE characters have over PvP ones.

for PvE I have my weapon sets so that I have one weapon on 3 sets. But on one set I have +12 nrg and faster cast on my offhand, on another I have a poison reduction and on the third I have... I forget, don't use it much. And in the fourth slot I have a minimum dmg longbow for pulling if I need it.
It helps to have the option

Why would you say that? It's pretty much equally important, plus in PVE you have been given 4 slots, while with PVP you only have 2, unless you go to Xunlai and pick up 2 more... which I sure as heck don't do.

For my ranger I have 4 bows I swap out constantly. I have the aforementioned Vamp bow. I also have a 10/10 Sundering Bow for heavy armor monsters. Then I have a Fire and an Ebon dmg bow. I frequently swap these out for Ice and Lightning as I see fit. The benefit is doing more damage and having more flexibility. I swap weapons around for my mesmer as well for better energy management as well.

Mmm, I use the forward / back button on my mouse just because of how often I switch weaponsets, and clicking is annoying.
The only in-game clicking I do while fighting is for skills 6-9, -- 1-5 I just hit on my keyboard o.O...

I find weaponsets very useful in PvE. I actually have three different axes I use in PvE (and PvP when I feel like it, though I don't often PvP). As we all know, we come across many different foes in PvE, many strong and weak against certain types of damage. I have my weapon sets set up as follows:
1. - Axe that does shocking damage
2. - Axe that does slashing damage
3. - Axe that does piercing damage (also w/ zelous mod)
4. - Bow (for pulling purposes)

Yup, I've got similar.
Fire axe for shiverpeaks areas.
Ice axe for ring of fire areas.
Sundering axe when i'm not fighting warrior based enemies (warrior based have increased defense to phys).
Zealous axe for when I want to go nuts and spam shit.
Long Bow for pulling or sending pet in.
Defensive long sword (req 3, looks like crystaline) for my riposte W/Me farming build.
I usually carry those weapons on my warrior at all times. Then I have 5 Helms. One for swordsmanship, one for hammer, one for axe, then my two ascalon helms. One is Swords, the other is Axe. (Ascalon for the damage reduction and looks)
I carry at least 3 shields. 1 str based, 1 tactics based, and the perfect collector's carapace shield for farming.
It sucks really. But I need it all.
